2007 Music Ministry News
Sing to the Lord; bless His name.
Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Psalm 96:2
Dear prayer partners and supporters;
I would like to start first of all by saying thank you for your partnership in this journey of reaching the lost for HIS glory by means of music.
This year was one of the busiest years for the Music Ministry. As you may already know in September of 2006 Polished Arrow and Missionary Ventures Canada joined forces to further the great commission through the means of music. The year started with a trip to Orlando, Florida in January to attend MVI’s Missions Conference. There Wayne and I were commissioned by MVI and are now serving under their umbrella.
In February Kathi Williams of MVCanada and I traveled to Cuba to record my first CD “His Love Never Dies” in Spanish. We spent many hours in the studio working on pronunciation, recording and doing lots of praying. I was blessed to have Charlie who is a great vocal coach help me through it all. Polished Arrow Ministry now has a Spanish CD to give away to people in Central and South America’s developing countries. Kathi and I also had the privilege of ministering in a number of church services.
In March I traveled west to Saskatoon to attend and take part in the Canadian Revival Fellowship’s 35th anniversary. I was so blessed to sit under Dr. Henry Blackaby’s ministry as well as John McGregor’s, and so many other giants in the faith.
April I traveled with my mom to the province of Quebec where I ministered through concerts held in Maniwaki, Rivière Rouge and at the penitentiary in La Macaza. During my tour my mom stayed with her sister in St. Jean Matha. After the tour I picked her up and we returned home. Our time in the car together was a real blessing; we enjoyed lots of laughter and some tears as we shared and talked about our lives. On this Quebec tour I met a young wife and mother of two who was so encouraged by my testimony and songs that she volunteered to translate all my songs in French. Guess it’s time to put out a French CD! Since that time I have been mentoring her through letters, phone calls and short visits. This coming February I will be assisting her in the birth of her third child. Please pray for me, I’ve never experience the miracle of the birth of a child before. I cannot believe God would give me such a privilege.
May was an exciting month for me as well. I traveled to Cuba again only this time on a short term mission trip with a team of nine women with MVCanada. There I shared through concerts, testimony and we did many home visits. We also gave away my Spanish CD to many people who cannot afford to buy them. What also made this trip so wonderful was having three girls that I have been mentoring Nathalie, Lisa and Betty-Ann as well as my mentor Louise along. Having my “spiritual” girls and my “spiritual” mom with me on a mission trip was an answer to prayer and a special gift from God. What a time of ministry we had. God was exalted, the church was encouraged, the poor were visited and fed and we were blessed out of our socks. The three girls came home completely transformed for His glory. As a result Nathalie and Lisa are now at Bible College and Betty-Ann has committed herself to serving Christ in anyway HE desires. It‘s such a thrill to see them mature in their faith.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”. 1Cor:2:9
Thank You Lord!
Right after the mission trip to Cuba we flew back to Toronto where I spent the night in a hotel then flew early the next morning to meet Wayne and ten American CMAers for another short term mission to Colombia. There we visited many Army Bases where we shared the Gospel through testimony, songs and showings of the Jesus film. As well we ministered in several churches and presented several motor cycles to pastors in need of them. Again we gave away many of my Spanish CDs as a tool to encourage the people to seek God with all their heart. What a blessing to be able to do that.
While traveling back home from a weekend of ministry in Nova Scotia last April I shared with Wayne that I was planning to take the months of June and July off in order to stay home and help him with hay crop. Well, we got home around 3am that Monday morning and at 9am just a few hours later I received a phone call asking if I would be willing to join a group of 50 Quebecers and go to France and Belgium for four weeks of ministry ( June 28th to July 24th ). Well here I go again…once there we did door to door evangelism, street ministry, concerts, testimonies and church services. (All in French) The Gospel was shared with many, many people who are now being discipled through the local churches.
In August I was home for about three weeks where I ministered in our area with Nathalie and Lisa and then I was off again on a tour in Ontario. (August 24 – September 30). I was joined by Kathi Williams on this tour and her husband Andy. Then Kara Kupery and Inez Jimenez joined us later on. The tour consisted of concerts where I shared my testimony along with a short DVD describing the music ministry of MVCanada and Polished Arrow. I shared in Fennelon Falls, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Forest, Mississauga, Stoney Creek, Burlington, and even Buffalo, NY. It was a great success. The ministry in Forest was a wonderful addition to the tour as I got to share some songs in Spanish with the Mexican workers who were celebrating their Mexican Independence Day. We were able to give them each a copy of my new Spanish CD. It was a total blessing!
After the long tour in Ontario I returned home only to leave again three weeks later for the Philippines with MVCanada. I traveled with a group of four other women; we shared the Gospel through concerts, testimonies, home visits and church services. After ten days two of the women flew back to Canada. Kathi Williams, Jan Voleriote and I stayed on and were joined by another group of seven Canadians where we did more of the same type of ministry as well as worked on a building project. We witnessed many (whole families) come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as well as many youth being ignited with a passion to serve Christ through their gifts and talents.
The music ministry is such a great tool, it touches the heart and soul like only music can. We gave away hundreds of my CDs “His Love Never Dies” and I was humbled to hear it being played from so many homes in each town and village we visited. I was also thrilled to see the way God is using music (my music) to reach so many for His glory. Many Pilipino had already learned some of my songs and were singing them everywhere we went. Some had even translated a number of them in their Tagalog dialect. My song Sacrifice of Praise a song God inspired me to write and gave me the privilege of receiving a # 1 hit with it back in 2002 is now translated from English to French, Spanish and Tagalog. I thank God for the honor of serving Him in this way.
I have been home for a little more than two weeks now enjoying my kitchen and spending time with my husband. The next few weeks I will be doing a few engagements in the area where I will be doing prison ministry, church services and three days at our local Wal-Mart promoting my Christmas CD.
I do look forward to some quiet time with Wayne; we plan to go to Ontario to spend the holidays with Bill and Louise where I know it will be a good time of rest and relaxation and preparation for what the LORD has planned for 2008.
I thank you for taking the time to read this report and I pray that through it you will have gotten a glimpse of how God is at work through this music ministry and how your partnership is so vital. Remember too that you can receive a tax receipt for your donations and should you want to give the gift of music this Christmas season you can purchase my Christmas CD “The True Meaning of Christmas” for only $20.00 and $5.00 from each sale will go toward placing CDs free of charge in the hands of people in developing countries. Not only will you be joining us in building the Kingdom but think of the eternal reward that will await you on the day of His return. May you be blessed as you continue to serve Him in the way that you do.
